Project Haven is a charity aimed at assisting the growing number of homeless people being forced to live and sleep on the streets of the United Kingdom & Republic of Ireland.

There are many charities within the United Kingdom & Republic of Ireland dedicated to supporting the homeless, be it with food, clothing, and essential items or through the provision of temporary accommodation, usually on a night-by-night basis. This work is also supported by local councils and government initiatives that aim to re-house the most vulnerable in our society. Unfortunately, in the current economic environment, homelessness is still a growing problem, and many councils and charities are finding it difficult to keep up with the demand on their services.

One key issue is simply the lack of available and affordable housing options, many people currently facing homelessness are also struggling with unemployment and access to government financial aid. Without adequate council housing provisions, many people are out of options, resulting in homelessness and rough sleeping.
Project Haven aims to provide short to medium term accommodation options to those with no fixed address, allowing them the time they need to find adequate housing provisions, while also providing additional support, such as addiction counselling, employment advise and support, financial advice, and a variety of life skills.
The prefab accommodation units that Project Haven is looking to utilize will comprise of a bedroom, toilet/shower room and a living area, allowing users the dignity of privacy in a clean environment and also providing security for them and their belongings. Pets will also be welcome in the units as we recognize that for many, pets provide valuable emotional support.

The units will be located within an area that provides additional support with a canteen to provide hot food, a recreation room, cloths washing facility, counselling services, function rooms for workshops and other support services. The area will also be secure for user safety with on site staff around the clock to ensure welfare. A bus will also operate throughout the day, ensuring service users can reach the nearest town/city for shopping, employment opportunities and social visits.

It is the aim of Project Haven that users of the service will benefit from the safety, security and support provided to give them the best opportunity to obtain housing, employment, and life stability, allowing them to leave the Haven to a brighter future.
